On Friday May 29, 86 recruits were sworn in as First Year Constables (FYC’S) with the Queensland Police Service.
Two of these FYC’s have today been warmly welcomed to Boondall Police Station where they will be stationed for six months.
Constables Bird and Stutsel will each work their first eight weeks at Boondall Station alongside a ‘mentor’ known as a Field Training Officer (FTO). The FTO will help the FYC’s transition from academy life to the dynamic role as a first response Police Officer.

Following their time at Boondall Station they will both perform their final six months of training at City Police Station, before being granted a permanent posting.
Prior to joining the QPS Constable Stutsel had been an infantryman with the Army, based in Brisbane.
