Police in Boondall have seen a recent rise in the number of motor vehicles that have been unlawfully entered within the Gateway Patrol area.
Between August 10 and August 12, a total of 14 vehicles were reported to police as being broken into.
The majority of reported offences had occurred within the Bracken Ridge, Chermside West and Fitzgibbon areas and happened overnight, between midnight and midday.
Unknown offenders have been captured on CCTV trying door handles to identify if cars doors had been left unlocked before simply opening the doors and stealing property.
Property targeted included small portable items such as wallets and laptops as well as two instances of tools stolen from utility tool boxes.
Anyone with information about these offences is urged to contact police.
